Manicures are a treatment for the hands and finger nails, the nails are filed to give them shape and to keep them from splitting, the cuticles are pushed back to stop them from growing up the nail and improving the look of the fingers, a hand massage is then given to increase the circulation to the whole hand leaving the skin soft and supple, the nails can then be polished with a colour to suit the client or if no polish is required the nails can be buffed, this helps to keep ridges at bay or to help smooth them out.

Pedicures are similar to a manicure but are performed on the feet, the feet are first soaked in a foot spa to enable the nails to soften, after which the nails are cut and filed to the length required and then the cuticles are pushed back, after this the hard skin is smoothed down so the skin on the heels can feel smooth and no rough edges are left, this is followed by a foot massage to soothe the feet and moisturise the skin, this can be followed by a polish if the client requires.
